From Beijing To Washington
This book marks a major milestone in my life that I have truly lived an American Dream through my thirty-year odyssey. Meanwhile, this book also marks the beginning of another chapter in my life. I will continue to contribute and give back to this great nation that has changed my life and my children’s lives for generations to come.
Asian Americans are the fastest-growing major ethnic group in the United States. More than 20 million Asians live in America. Asian Americans contribute in every sector our society and trace their roots to more than 20 countries in East and Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent, each with unique histories, cultures, languages and other characteristics. We will collect best stories of Asian American immigrants into a book called “Born in Asia – Stories of Celebrated Asian Americans. The selected stories and Asian Americans will also be featured in the documentary.
American Odyssey is filled with inspiring stories and interviews. The author has certainly lead a storied life, I really enjoyed reading of her experiences working for the federal government, leading contracts for veterans, for the BEP designing our money, but also her media experiences interviewing people including Dalai Lama, Yao Ming, and Chuck Todd. A truly well-written, inspiring autobiography that makes you aware of the limitless possibilities in America!

Being born and raised in the US, I found this book in particular, to be culturally enlightening and personally inspiring. It was like watching a documentary filled with historical events, family events and personal heart-wrenching as well as heartwarming events that took me on an emotional rollercoaster ride. This book left me feeling… grateful. This book is definitely a book to add to the coffee table or end table.
