New York, NY – On October 19, 2025, the grand stage of Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall will come alive with an unforgettable evening of operatic splendor. World-renowned Spanish tenor Sergi Giménez Carreras and internationally acclaimed rising star, soprano Jennifer Qian Ye, will join forces for “Élan Opera Night”—a gala concert celebrating the timeless power and beauty of opera.

A Transcendent Spanish Tenor: Sergi Giménez Carreras

Born in Barcelona and trained in Spain, Italy, and Germany, Sergi Giménez Carreras has enchanted audiences worldwide with his commanding voice and charismatic stage presence. He has performed leading roles in Carmen, Tosca, La Traviata, La Bohème, Cavalleria Rusticana, Die Zauberflöte, and Il Trovatore across Europe and the Americas. His collaborations with operatic legends such as Josep Carreras, Montserrat Caballé, Kiri Te Kanawa, Barbara Frittoli, Bryn Terfel, and Jaume Aragall have cemented his status as one of the great interpreters of the lyric tenor repertoire.

Carreras’ performances have taken him to the most prestigious stages, from London’s Albert Hall to the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Leipzig for Verdi’s Requiem, as well as international venues in Washington, Boston, Tokyo, Beijing, and beyond. His voice, at once powerful and lyrical, brings depth and passion to every performance.

The Rising Star: Jennifer Qian Ye

Sharing the stage is the radiant soprano Jennifer Qian Ye, whose meteoric rise has captivated audiences in Europe, Asia, and the United States. A graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory and the Nizhny Novgorod Glinka Conservatory, she is currently completing her Doctor of Musical Arts at the Hartt School of Music. Ye has performed lead roles across the operatic canon, including Micaëla in Carmen, Mimi in La Bohème, and Nedda in Pagliacci, gracing concert halls from Vienna’s Musikverein to the Berlin Philharmonie.

In 2024, she performed alongside Carreras at the Grand Opening of Milan Fashion Week, a collaboration that showcased their dazzling musical chemistry. Her artistry has been recognized with top honors at over a dozen prestigious international competitions, including First Prizes at the Swiss International Music Competition, Golden Classical Music Awards, Antonin Dvořák Classical Music Competition, and Bach International Music Competition.
